Illusions Of

Illusions Of… is a series of sound-centric performances that aim to reveal the invisible forces governing our daily realities. The pieces explore perceptions of white supremacy, capitalism, adolescence and identity across social, political, and personal landscapes. Through poetry, drag, live music, and performance art, the event invites its audience to listen deeply and confront the illusions that we choose to surround ourselves with.

Featuring performances by Bradley Taylor, Brid Addison Child, Elana Binysh, Femi Oriogun-Williams and Dr Hannah Catherine Jones, with artworks by Anna Chiarini. Curated and executive produced by Talia Augustidis.

Please be aware that this performance contains themes of discrimination and violence, sexual references and some offensive language (not necessarily suitable for children).

WHEN: Saturday 26th April, 11:45am

WHERE: V&A South Kensington, Cromwell Road, London, SW7 2RL

Tricks of the Ear

As well as the performances, In The Dark is also presenting a curious selection of audio pieces exploring magic, imagination, trickery, hallucinations and deception – from possible alien sightings in Norway to a mysterious sound in North Carolina. The curation will feature audio documentaries, sound art, radio drama and more, rolling throughout the day in the Tapestries Gallery.

Curated by Talia Augustidis.

Drop in to enjoy a relaxed listening experience (suitable for children!).
