As part of the launch of The Routledge Companion to the Sound of Space, In The Dark’s Founder Nina Garthwaite will be holding a free workshop exploring sound, space and shadow puppets.
Through the 2 hour workshop we’ll be using our ears as a portal to explore our collective inner experience of sound and space. Through listening, writing and shadow puppetry we will share the webs of memory, sensation and emotion that inhabit the sounds around us.
The workshop has grown out of Nina’s chapter in the collection, “Imagining Together”, about the creation of In The Dark and personal reflections on sound and space drawn from the hundreds of listening events we have held over the years and her teaching of creative sound.
No prior experience necessary, just a willingness to play, make and share. Limited to 20 spaces.
